Biography:Lauren earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Virginia, where she served as President of the International English Honors Society Sigma Tau Delta, was a member of the National Honor Fraternity Phi Sigma Pi, and competed for the varsity Track and Field team, contributing in the high hurdles, sprint relays, and high jump. After earning her masters in secondary English education, Lauren taught 8th-grade English in the Nelson County School District. She then moved to Pennsylvania to teach at Mercersburg Academy, serving as a dorm parent, advisor, and volleyball and track coach.
After joining the Episcopal faculty in fall 2014, Lauren has served several roles. She teaches Genre Studies, Contemporary Global Literature, and Creative Writing. Additionally, she is the Director of the Writing Center, the head coach for varsity volleyball, and officiates for the indoor and outdoor track and field teams. In her spare time, Lauren loves playing volleyball, crocheting, singing, reading, playing the violin, and walking with her dog, Roscoe.
