Melinda "Mindy" Thompson

Biography:
After Mindy graduated from Wittenberg University, she worked in various independent schools teaching and tutoring Physics, Chemistry and Algebra. During that time, she earned a Masters of Physics Education at The University of Virginia. Mindy moved to Alexandria in 2005 and has been involved with Episcopal since that time, tutoring, as a dorm parent and cheering on the teams. Mindy also worked at an inclusive preschool, working with families to help their children grow and recognize each child’s unique learning styles and needs.

At Episcopal, Mindy works in the Academic Support Center, helping students identify and adapt their own needs to the requirements of their classes. Specifically, Mindy will focus on aiding students in the math and science departments, encouraging their enjoyment and ability in these areas. She enjoys helping students realize their academic potential and inspiring them to be lifelong learners.

Mindy enjoys reading, crafting, traveling, and spending time with friends. Most of all, she enjoys family time.
