Biography:
Evan Howard hails from Jacksonville, Florida, Evan pursued a degree in Chemistry at the University of South Florida, where he distinguished himself academically and contributed significantly to research.

During his time at USF, Evan was deeply involved in Dr. Juan Del Valle's Peptidomimetic Organic Chemistry Lab. His dedication and innovative work led to his first-author publication in the Journal of Organic Chemistry, where he detailed the invention of a new amino acid, Ɛ-oxapipecolic acid. Although he was offered an opportunity to continue his studies with Dr. Del Valle at Notre Dame, Evan chose to enter the workforce, gaining valuable experience as a pharmaceutical chemist and environmental scientist.

However, his passion for teaching eventually guided him back to education. Evan taught chemistry and honors chemistry in Duval County Public Schools, the very district where he once studied, and is now thrilled to share his knowledge of chemistry and physics with the students at Episcopal High School.

Beyond the classroom, Evan has a lifelong connection to soccer, having played the sport since childhood. His commitment to giving back to the community led him to volunteer with TOPSoccer, where he coached children with mental and physical disabilities. He continued his coaching career with i9 Sports in Jacksonville, mentoring over 500 young athletes ages 3-10. Recently, he served as the boys’ varsity assistant coach at Westside High School. Evan is now excited to take on the role of girls’ junior varsity soccer head coach at Episcopal High School, alongside assistant coach Javier Bastos, with the aim of instilling a love for the sport in his players.
