Biography:
Liz joined the faculty at Episcopal in 2005 and teaches Ceramics 1 and 2, Advanced Studio Art: 3-D Design, Painting 1 and 2, Advanced Studio Art: 2-D Design, Afternoon Art and Investigations in Art. Liz is the director of the Angie Newman Johnson Gallery, a faculty advisor for the Crafting Club, a student advisor, and part of the evening study hall team at March Library.
Liz is in her 20th year of teaching and living at EHS. When not working in her classrooms, you can find Liz enjoying their family garden in the middle of campus. Liz is passionate about bringing visiting artists to the Ainslie Arts Center to exhibit in the gallery and work with Episcopal’s student body. She also enjoys collaborating with teachers and students to bring unexpected and cross-disciplinary projects into the life of the campus. Liz is a visual artist and shows her sculpture, painting and collage work regionally and nationally.
She and her husband Nat Duffield, an art and botany teacher, enjoy bird watching, gardening, hiking, cooking, and traveling in their spare time.
