Dr. Weston lettered in both football and baseball at Episcopal. A leader on and off the athletic field, he was a Monitor and co-captain of the baseball team as a senior.
He also was co-alternate captain of the undefeated 1953 football team, which was ranked No. 1 in the Washington area and won the Virginia Prep Championship. Dr. Weston led the team’s defense with 80 tackles and earned All-Metro and All-Prep honors. He blocked a punt in the game against Woodberry Forest School to help ensure Episcopal’s victory.
After graduation, Dr. Weston was a three-year starter for the University of South Carolina’s football team. He played alongside his brother, Bill Weston ’52, also a three-year letterman for the Gamecocks. As a senior, he co-captained the team to a 5-5 record and earned Academic All-ACC honors.
