Episcopal High School was recently certified as a 3 Star Certified Green Restaurant® by the Green Restaurant Association (GRA), a national nonprofit organization helping restaurants to become more environmentally sustainable. Receiving 187.57 GreenPoints™ on the GRA's rigorous certification scale and having implemented 85 environmental steps, Episcopal High School has gone 87.57% above and beyond the minimum requirements necessary for Certification.
Restaurants generate over 300 million tons of garbage every year. We're proud to reduce that volume by recycling. Episcopal High School recycles everything commercially possible in Alexandria. Episcopal High School uses no polystyrene foam (aka Styrofoam). To become a Certified Green Restaurant®, Episcopal High School implemented 85 steps in Six Environmental Categories: Energy, Water, Waste, Food, Disposables, and Chemicals.
