Timothy Russell McGee '81

Described by a fellow Old Boy as “a shifty quarterback in football, high scorer in basketball, and all-world catcher in baseball,” Tim McGee found success in three sports at Episcopal High School and was awarded the Rinehart Medal for athletic worth his senior year. He was captain of the varsity football team, co-captain of the basketball team, winner of the William Caskie Watts Award, and an All-IAC selection in basketball.
Best known for his talent in baseball, Mr. McGee was named outstanding catcher in the D.C. area by the Washington Times his junior year and was recognized as Alexandria Sportsman’s Club Baseball Player of the Year his sophomore and senior years. This baseball captain was All-IAC for three consecutive seasons, All-Metro his senior year, and winner of the Miller Baseball Award his junior and senior years. He set School records for throwing out base runners and most hits in a season. Recognized as one of the Top 100 Athletes of Alexandria in 1999, Mr. McGee certainly left his mark as an EHS star athlete.
