Capping Off an Impressive Fall Athletics Season

During a chilly evening in November, the fall athletics teams gathered in Laird Dining Hall to celebrate an unforgettable season. Lydia Navitsky ’27, a member of the girls’ varsity cross country team, offered inspiring reflections on the season’s journey: “This fall, we’ve celebrated victories, faced challenges, and grown stronger as teams and as a community. Whether on the track, the field, or the court, our strength lies in the bonds we’ve formed and the way we show up for one another.” The night highlighted the achievements, resilience, and camaraderie that defined the 2024 fall athletics season. Key moments included:

  • Boys’ soccer crowned the season by clinching the state championship;
  • Head coach Rick Wilcox winning the VISAA Boys’ Soccer Coach of the Year;
  • Girls’ tennis reached the ISL and state semifinals and finished with an impressive top-five state ranking;
  • Volleyball and field hockey also made it to the ISL and state quarterfinals, closing with number six and number seven state rankings;
  • Cross-country rounded out the season as both the boys and girls were in the top ten in their respective leagues.

Congratulations to all of our fall athletics banquet award winners!
