Rev. Danté Stewart Serves as 2025 Theologian-in-Residence

Rev. Danté Stewart certainly did not have to wake up at 6 a.m. to train with EHS athletes as the 2025 Theologian-in-Residence. He wanted to. He did not have to run from praying with the girls’ varsity basketball team to a dinner with students in Bryan Library and then back to the final minutes of the girls’ basketball game so the players would see him in the stands. He wanted to. Why? Because “there’s nothing better than a young person having somebody looking for them,” Stewart said. “There’s nothing better than a young child having somebody who believes in them and wants to show up.”

Thank you to Rev. Stewart for visiting campus and enmeshing himself so seamlessly in our community in five short days. From visiting classes like Louis Smith’s Non-Fiction Writing for Publication and Rev. Richmond Jones’ Ethics and Moral Philosophy to preaching multiple times in Callaway Chapel, his visit was impactful for all.
