Student Journal from 1893

A diary kept by William Page Dame Class of 1896.
The Episcopal High School archives recently received a pocket diary from 1893, kept by William Page Dame 1896 during his years as an EHS student. The journal was donated to the School by Frank and Madeline Milwee in honor of the Rev. Churchill J. Gibson, Jr. ’49.

The diary offers a rare glimpse into early EHS life. Dame recorded his classes and grades, expenditures, debate topics, reading selections, birthdates, a song, a Finals schedule, quotations, list of names and addresses, sermon notes, and even a recipe for raspberry ice cream.
